This style collet chuck adapter meets the highest demands from our customers. This adapter has three advantages: it extends the drill or endmill away from the face of the tool holder for additional reach, it can be identical to the ER pocket that it fits into or it can be reduced to smaller collet pocket for additional clamping range on the low end, and it allows you to preset your next job offline. The additional reach is typically desired if working close to the OD or ID of the part. The extended collet pocket is offered in the same size as the collet pocket of the base tool holder. This feature allows you to preset our PRECI-FLEX® adapters offline without the use of the tool holder. Presetting offline is a remarkable time saver because your machine is running and making parts while you are getting the next job preset. The extended collet pocket is also offered in a reduced size from the original collet pocket of the base tool holder. Reducing the pocket size will open up the clamping range on the bottom end of the clamping range. All three advantages can be used simultaneously; maintain the collet chuck interface with the same or reduced size, preset your drills or endmills offline while the machine works, and extend your tool out from the face while working. Each adapter is equipped with a set screw at the bottom of the chuck to act as an adjustable stop. < Back |
